Cakes & barrages
Stand upright on flat ground. Secure against tipping exactly as the label directs.
For fan cakes, check the “this side to audience” marking. Keep the firing path clear and never lean over the tubes.
Give them a clear launch
Use a proper, securely fixed launch tube. Never use a bottle or hold a rocket in your hand.
The stick must move freely and must not be stuck in the ground. Follow the label’s launch direction, keeping the flight path away from spectators.
Outdoor ground fountains
Stand upright on flat ground and secure as instructed so the fountain cannot fall over.
Keep the spark area clear of people and anything that can burn. Never hold a ground fountain.
03 / Light, then leave
Keep your body away from the top. Light the fuse at arm’s length with a taper, then move immediately to the label’s stated distance. Never throw fireworks or put them in pockets.
04 / After the display
Let spent fireworks cool completely, then soak them and debris overnight before appropriate disposal. Never put fireworks on a bonfire. This cleanup advice applies to spent fireworks; keep clear of failed fireworks and seek advice.
Checked 30 October 2026. For outdoor consumer fireworks. Read the current guidance and your product’s own label before use.
